Casey and I welcomed two fraternal twin girls on July 6, 2016 at 10:18am and 10:20am. We are overjoyed.
Lawson Jane Schrader, formerly known as Baby A, who was positioned on the left side of my body, arrived at 10:18am weighing 5 pounds, 2 ounces.
Reagan Russell Schrader, formerly known as Baby B, who was positioned on the right side of my body, arrived at 10:20am weighing 4 pounds, eleven ounces.
Both babies arrived via planned C-Section (another post coming about all the good details).
An APGAR score is given when the babies arrive. Accordng to Medline Plus Medical Dictionary, “Apgar is a quick test performed on a baby at 1 and 5 minutes after birth. The 1-minute score determines how well the baby tolerated the birthing process. The 5-minute score tells the doctor how well the baby is doing outside the mother's womb.” The Apgar score is based on a total of ten points. A child rarely receives a perfect score of ten. Both girls were given a score of nine at both one and five minutes.
The girls were in perfect health and spent no time in the NICU. We left the hospital after regular stay.
We are now almost 6-months into having twin girls in the house and there is so much I wish I would’ve known. Get ready – the blog is BACK and information is forthcoming!
